My Fred Perry has arrived in the mail which made me tres ekkkkcited and happy because they are very comfortable soft fabulous and they look too pretty to be worn out. Plus it's suede, I'm afraid of dirtying them. Ughh what good is having a new pair of shoes but not wearing them out. I should stop buying shoes, especially heels since nobody wants to wear them out with me.
So I spent my Saturday lazing around at home, watching Harper's Island, reading Harry Potter in between while falling in and out of sleep and now I have like 7 blue blacks on my left leg, I do not know how I got them but it makes my leg look really horrible )):
Found this on the web:
Girls
are like
apples on trees.
The best ones are
at the top of the tree. The
boys dont want to reach
for the good ones because they
are afraid of falling and getting hurt.
Instead, they just get the rotten apples
from the ground that aren't quite as good,
but easy. So the apples at the top think
something is wrong with them, when in
reality, they're amazing. They just
have to wait for the right boy to
come along, the one who's
brave enough to
climb all
the way
to the top
of the tree
This made me lol and it reminds me of those old school emails where you'd have to sent this to a gazzillion people and then your crush would magically fall in love with you. Anyway the underlying message irks me and it's disturbing.
Making some girls feel good about themselves is nice, but doing it at the expense of others? It just rubs me the wrong way. I don't really like the whole dichotomy between "good"/"fresh" girls and "bad"/"rotten" girls. Oh, you had premarital sex? Rotten. Oh, you curse and swear? Rotten. Oh, you wear a low-cut top and short skirt? Rotten.
I wrote poems with less inane stereotypes when I was in secondary school and I have the proof. This one fails.
But it's mmmmm very "Don't worry if a boy doesn't like you, it's because he got sidetracked by all the sluts falling on his head..."
I find this too cute!
